Tsawwassen First Nation Mega Malls 4
The construction of two mega-malls, one enclosed shopping mall and an outdoor retail space, next to each other required the use of a storm sewer. The sewer would need to convey stormwater flows around the site's perimeter under public roads.

PRODUCTS USED

Given the saline environment of the soil, SaniTite HP was chosen for the project. SaniTite HP provides corrosion resistance and offers the structural strength needed in the poor deltaic soil conditions in the seismically active region.

SaniTite HP’s light weight and integral bell-and-spigot joints allowed the contractor to install 60 meters (200’) of pipe per day whereas 30 meters (100’) was the goal.

The pipe was installed on a zero percent grade with as little as 450 mm (18”) of cover to act as a holding tank as well as conveyance. The held water was then able to enter nearby ditches, which are used by local farmers for irrigation.
